Oh, The Places You'll Go Party

This party is one of my absolute favorites. It is based off the book by Dr. Seuss, "Oh, The Places You'll Go." You can listen and watch the story read here.

The book has been a popular theme for both first birthday parties and graduation parties. I was so excited when I was hired to plan and design a first birthday party inspired by the book and its beautiful colors and imagery. I hope you enjoy!

I made colorful floral arrangements to go on each table. The vases were wrapped in wide ribbon I ordered off of Etsy. It was a great find! You can order it here.

Isn't this space amazing! This event was located at the clubhouse at Traverse Mountain in Lehi, Utah. Look at those views. I actually arrived at the space at 5 AM to setup and able to see the sunrise over the mountains. It was stunning!

The hot air balloon decorations you see hanging around the room were absolutely magical. They looked as if they were floating in the air. I handmade each of these and I'd have to say this was the longest project I worked on for this event. The banner garlands on the lanterns were hand punched out of eight different colored papers. I then hot glued the triangles on different colored twine. I do not have pictures of me working on this project because it took over my entire house and I didn't look the least bit professional while putting them together.

The Kids Table

The kids also had a table where they could color pictures for the birthday boy.

My favorite part of any party is the table filled with goodies.

I made this fun backdrop to bring some color to one of the colors of the room. It's made out of crepe paper streamers.

I made little gift bags for each of the kids to take home. In each bag was an airplane and fun "Oh, The Places You'll Go" trinkets and supplies.

Each guest signed a globe that was then given to the birthday boy as a keepsake.

I have so many people to thank for making this event happen.

Special thanks to my amazing client, Shwetha and her little birthday boy, Dev.
